We Take Business To A Hire Level

Extra Help is a wonderful example of a truly dynamic woman-owned business. Founded by Teresa Katubig in 1995, Extra Help opened its first office in Johnston City, IL as a temporary agency. However, Teresa had a bigger vision and moved to Marion in 2002.

Armed with a CPA and extensive corporate management experience, Teresa quickly expanded Extra Help from a traditional temporary staffing agency by adding many of the services her clients were demanding.

Extra Help now provides Direct Hire services to help companies fill full-time positions; Payroll Services, including traditional outsourced payroll, reporting, tax filings and workers’ compensation; and Workforce Tools, such as, timekeeping, employee self-serve, and employee benefits.

Today, Extra Help has 29 employees and three locations (Marion, Edwardsville and St. Louis) with more than 1,000 clients in 31 states. Sales in 2010 were more than $14 million and are on track to reach $20 million in 2011.

From Eastern Illinois to West St. Louis County, Extra Help provides Employment Services to growing mid-sized companies, firms not unlike Extra Help— businesses that are entrepreneurial, hard working, and in demanding industries. Manufacturing, construction, mining, distribution, transportation, and warehousing represent the largest percentage of our clients.

Extra Help Payroll Services supports clients nationwide. These include small- to mid-sized manufacturing firms, as well as, non-profits, distribution, transportation, education hotel, hospitality, sports and entertainment businesses.

In 2010, Extra Help was recognized by the St. Louis Business Journal as the 17th largest women-owned business in the St. Louis area. It also received the 2008 Good Neighbor of the Year Award in Southern Illinois. Teresa was awarded the “Woman on the Rise” award in 2010 by the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer and was selected as one of St. Louis’ “Winning Women” in 2011. Extra Help is even included on INC. Magazine’s 500/5000 List.

One of Extra Help’s greatest capabilities is supporting a number of deserving charitable organizations, both locally and nationally, many of which can be found on the “Social Responsibility” page. Extra Help also serves a number of business organizations from the Goshen Rotary to local Chambers of Commerce.

With our proven model and existing infrastructure to provide employment and payroll services, Extra Help is continually pursuing greater opportunities; but we will never forget our roots. Teresa started the business with, and maintains, a simple philosophy: “Always do the right thing and treat people as you would want to be treated.”
